Our story

Why we built Neurodivergent Tech.

Finding the right technology shouldn’t rely on luck, word of mouth, or endless Googling — especially for neurodivergent people.

But for many of us, it does.

01 — The beginning

Support that disappeared.

Our founder was diagnosed with dyslexia at 17.

At school and university, there was support: extra time, adjustments, understanding.

But when she entered the workplace, much of that support disappeared.

The expectations stayed the same.

The workload stayed the same.

But the tools and systems often didn’t adapt.

Reading dense documents became exhausting. Processing information quickly became harder. And asking for help wasn’t always easy.

That led to one question:

"Why does support often stop when work starts?"

02 — The gap

Technology moved forward — accessibility didn't always move with it.

We live in a world where:

  • AI can generate content in seconds
  • Workflows can be automated
  • People can collaborate globally in real time

Yet many neurodivergent people still struggle to find tools that genuinely support the way they think, learn, read, focus, communicate, and work.

Not because neurodivergent people are the problem.

But because most technology was never designed with different cognitive experiences in mind.

03 — What we believe

The problem isn't the person.

We don’t believe neurodivergent people need to be "fixed." We believe:

Technology should be more flexible
Design should reduce overwhelm, not create it
Accessibility should extend beyond education
People deserve tools that work with their brains, not against them

Different minds shouldn’t have to force themselves into one way of working.

04 — Why Neurodivergent Tech exists

Helping people discover tools that actually help.

Neurodivergent Tech was created to make finding supportive technology easier.

Not just tools that are trendy. Not just tools with the biggest marketing budgets.

But tools that may help:

  • Reduce cognitive overload
  • Improve focus and organisation
  • Support reading and comprehension
  • Reduce friction in everyday work and life
  • Make technology feel more accessible and less overwhelming

We compare tools through a neurodivergent lens — because usability is about more than features alone.

05 — Looking ahead

This is just the beginning.

We believe the future of technology should include more people, not exclude them.

And we hope Neurodivergent Tech becomes a place where people can discover tools, share experiences, and feel a little less alone while figuring out what works for them.

Because finding the right tool can genuinely change someone’s day-to-day life.
